AMSA On-Line Sociological Review

The AMSA journal, the AMSA On-Line Sociological Review, housed at the University of Mississippi, is ready to receive submissions. Edited by Gary L. Long (salong@olemiss.edu), with assistance from Elise S. Lake, Minjoo Oh, Ming Tsui, and Gwen Wages, the journal has an editorial board, and an established protocol. The journal will publish peer reviewed papers, essays, and comments authored by both faculty and students. One of the purposes of this new journal is to encourage faculty-student collaboration at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. By policy the journal will give space to papers from undergraduates. Click here to access AMSA On-line Sociological Review.

Journal Collection Needs a Home

After long and faithful service to the University of Alabama and the discipline of sociology, Selwyn Hollingsworth recently retired and wishes to donate his collection of journals to any college/university library in Alabama or Mississippi. His almost complete collection includes Social Forces (1936-1998), Rural Sociology (1938-2001), and the American Sociological Review (1936-1997). In addition, the collection also includes selected years of Demography, American Sociologist, American Political Science Review, The Rural Sociologist, Social Science, Southern Rural Sociology, Sociological Spectrum, and Sociological Inquiry. Don Bogie is serving as caretaker of Selwyn's journals and you may contact him at 334-244-3388 or dbogie@mail.aum.edu for additional information. Ideally, Don says that he would like to place all of the journals with a single institution that is willing to make arrangements for delivery.
