-- University of North Alabama senior Esmir
Guzonjic scored 11 points and pulled seven
rebounds recently in the 2nd annual National
Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC)
All- Star Game. Guzonjic, a 6-foor-10 senior
from Sarajevo, Bosnia, was one of 10 players
selected for the East squad in the game that
is now part of the Elite Eight Tournament
each March. |

NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Committee
announced that University of North Alabama
senior center Esmir Guzonjic and 19 other

Second Annual NABC/ NCAA Division II
All-Star Game to be held Friday, March 23 at
the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame in
Springfield, Massachusetts. |

another post-season award to his collection
after receiving second-team honors on the
Daktronics All-South Region team. The
regional award, which was voted on my sports

Conference, Sunshine State Conference and

Association, is the second post-season honor
for Nance. The 5-11 senior from Killen was

South Conference men’s basketball action. UNA,
which trailed 40-31 at the half, suffered 17
turnovers and went just 4-of-20 from three-point
range. The Tigers, however, were unable to put the
game away until the final minute. A three-pointer by
Joemal Campbell pulled the Lions to within five
points at 74-69 with 23 seconds remaining. UWA
scored the final five points to secure the win. |
