CARROLLTON, Ga., – The North Alabama women’s basketball
team quickly found themselves in a double-digit deficit Tuesday
against 13th-ranked West Georgia and was never able to
recover during a 71-60 road loss.
The Wolves raced
out to an early 18-8 lead and UNA never threatened, falling to 9-11
overall with a 3-3 mark in Gulf South Conference play. The win was
the ninth straight for West Georgia, which improves to 18-2 overall
with a perfect 5-0 league record.
The Lions trailed
41-25 at the break and at one point was down by 23 at 52-29 early in
the second half. UNA did close the gap to 11 by the end of the game.
Tandra Inmon and Jameica York scored 12 each
to lead the Lions.
UNA will return
to Flowers Hall next Saturday for a 1 p.m. match-up against
Concordia. The Lions will return to GSC play one week later with a
road showdown against Montevallo.
