Tennessee River Recreation

Recreation along the Tennessee River is plentiful for all ages.  TVA was originally created for flood control and hydroelectricity, but now has an added benefit in recreation.  One can enjoy picnicking, boating, fishing, swimming, camping, hiking, nature study, photography, and hunting at the different recreation areas.  Many different types of recreation are spread along the banks and within the Tennessee River.  Some areas offer more recreation activities than others do.  This section of the Tennessee River Virtual Tour offers information on some of the more prominent recreation areas located along the Tennessee River.
