ARCVIEW GIS EXERCISE NOTEBOOK
SPRING 2000

OBJECTIVES:

• To learn ArcView GIS to the fullest extent possible,
• To maintain a running log of ArcView GIS commands,
• To practice collecting, organizing and reducing materials for presentation,
• To determine personal weaknesses in GIS procedures and to overcome them, and
• To prepare for the final project by compiling a list of commands, as well as personal strengths and weaknesses.

PROCESS:

• Work each of the exercises in the ArcView GIS Exercise Book,
• Complete each exercise by the date provided in the Table below,
• Present assigned chapter to the class (along with your partner) on the assigned date,
• Maintain a log of the information listed under responsibilities, and
• Compile the information into a neat, concise format that will be presented to the instructor as a part of the "Projects" grade.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Notebook must contain, but is not limited to:

• Overview of lesson (how you accomplished the goals - big picture)
• Items learned
• Items not learned, but would like to learn
• New commands (and explanation) applied
• Application of your new knowledge

 NOTEBOOKS MAY BE COLLECTED AND CHECKED FOR PROGRESS AT ANYTIME WHICH WILL BECOME A PART OF THE FINAL GRADE.  MAKE SURE YOU STAY ON SCHEDULE.
