Eligibility for Membership
Membership must be through an established chapter; initiates may not be inducted at-large. There are three classes of member, as follows:
Regular: An initiate must have completed a minimum of three Geography courses, with a B average in Geography, must rank in the upper 35% of his or her class, and shall have completed at least three semesters or five quarters of college courses.
Associate: An initiate must have completed at least two courses in Geography with a minimum grade of B, have completed at least one full-time term of college work, and not be on, or about to be put upon probation. The associate can become a regular member when qualified and upon payment of the difference in fees.
Honorary: A chapter may extend honorary membership to anyone whom it feels has contributed to marked advancement of any phase of Geography by exploration, research, lecturing, publishing, or in any other way.
