The
Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) will conduct an
on-site evaluation at the University of North Alabama on
November 7 - 9, 2007
to
review the College of Nursing and Allied Health’s (CONAH) newly
implemented MSN program. The CONAH baccalaureate nursing program is
accredited by CCNE. The on-site evaluation is a component of the
accreditation process by CCNE.
To be accredited by
CCNE, colleges are required to evaluate their programs according to
several core standards. One of the standards specifies that the program
applying for accreditation must notify their community of interest of
the opportunity to submit written, third-party comments to CCNE.
This notification is to inform students, alumni, faculty, employers,
clinical agencies and the general public that written and signed third
party comments will be accepted by CCNE until 30 days before the
scheduled visit. Third party comments should be addressed to:

Alabama Board of
Nursing Scholarship for Graduate Studies
June 26, 2006.
The Alabama Board of Nursing has recently had $57,000 for
post-baccalaureate scholarships
reinstated into the Education Trust Fund. An application
with instructions is posted on their web site with the deadline
being August 1, 2006. The application is found in two places. Go
to
www.abn.state.al.us , click on either Board Information or
Nursing Education Programs and then click on Scholarship
Information. The application and instructions can be downloaded,
completed and then submitted. Sorry for the short notice but
the ABN just learned of the funding on Friday, June 23!
