The Department of Residence Life is proud to share our 2008-2009 Departmental Initiatives. The following are the initiatives we plan to work on this year with the hope of accomplishing or taking strides to accomplishing them.

Area/Theme: High Quality Programming, Student Centered University
Goal/Initiative #1: Perform an Internal Review of Department of Residence Life and follow up with an External Review in the Summer
Intended Learning/Process Outcomes:
Increased efficiency within the department
Higher level of offerings to the residents
Establish the groundwork on the direction of the department
Begin to develop a full department strategic plan

Goal/Initiative #2: Finish the transformation of the 2nd Floor of LaGrange Hall into the final themed floor for the building with a Fall 09 opening.

Increase retention rates for students in residence halls.
Provide educational opportunities for students outside the classroom.
Engage faculty and staff in the residential experience.
Partner with other departments on campus for programming opportunities
